Say Yes to Go Into the Marketplace

This weekend's message was about Say Yes to Go.  It highlighted the great vision that God has given our senior pastor about becoming a campus pastor at one of our multi-sites, a church planter in a town, or a missionary in Mexico, China, or Taiwan.  We have great men and women in our church that have said yes to go and it is an amazing calling.  God has designed the church to be a vital part of community as it helps encourage, take care of people, equip the saints, etc.

There are callings that fall outside the structural church and activities that make up a church and that is being called to the marketplace.  Many of us think of our jobs as a means to provide financial security, use our talents, and to fulfill our needs.  Most of us don't even consider our work as a place God has called us to minister.  But God uses the marketplace to show love to people.  This is where are basic needs are met.  We can bring the God of the universe into our most difficult marketplace problems.  We can look to God, the creator, to impart creativity when thinking up new ideas to solve issues and problems of today.

When called into ministry, whether in the church or the marketplace, it is usually followed by a "Woe".  Problems arise when we say yes.  We have an enemy and He doesn't want us to realize our identity in Christ or our purpose that God has uniquely placed on us.  When you say yes to your marketplace calling, then there will be a "woe".  There will be times when we have to go against what the world is demanding because we are saying yes to God.  There will be times when the good business practices are on our side to fire someone or terminate a relationship with a vendor or customer, but God may be asking you to press in with love.  There is a cost, but there is also a reward.  The reward of not having to do life in the marketplace alone.  The reward of realizing the God of the universe loves you and wants you to become all that He has created you to be.  The reward of being part of God's plan to advance His Kingdom.

"Say Yes" to the marketplace and become part of God's plan for reconciling the marketplace.  "Say Yes" to the marketplace and become a partner with the church in your community.  "Say Yes" to the marketplace and change your perspective on your job/career immediately.
